11.12.2009

The final match in Kiev, opening ceremony in Warsaw - this is the final schedule of the most important matches of Euro 2012. – This is the Ukrainian victory – said Julia Tymoszenko, the Ukrainian Prime Minister. The UEFA executive committee has prepared the schedule of matches in Poland and Ukraine during Euro 2012. In Poland the matches will be held in Wrocław, Poznań, Gdańsk and Warsaw, where the Championships will begin. Cracow has experienced a great disappointment as the expectations to be one of the eight Euro 2012 hosting cities were very huge, especially that the UEFA officials expressed their admiration for the cultural capital of Poland. Chorzów is another city which fell off Polish rivalry of Euro 2012.

To the last moment it was not sure whether all four meetings previously planned in Ukraine will actually take place. Our partner had some serious problems to meet the expectations of UEFA, concerning mainly the infrastructure.

Before 30th November works connected with the construction of stadiums and modernization of infrastructure were accelerated. The four matches in Ukraine will be played in : Kiev, Charków, Donieck and Lviv and the final on 1st July 2012 will be held in the capital at the Olympic Stadium.
